Overstamped Notes
Advertising Stamps
Occasionally businesses stamped the obsolete notes as a form of advertising
their business.
The back of the $20 Jonesboro branch of the Bank of East Tennessee G-356
is displayed. This is the same note as the
$20 G-126 except Jonesboro versus Chattanooga is written in as the
branch name. The plain back has been stamped with the name of a gentlemen'
clothing store in Louisville, KY.
